Making an entrance....

The entrance hall or space has a tall order.....ideally it sets the tone for the rest of our home creating an atmosphere of welcome and peace, but also it needs to be as practical as possible - which can mean the hub of stray shoes, mail on a mission to enter or leave, and coats that haven't quite reached their destination.

One way of creating a happy atmosphere of welcome whilst distracting from the bits and bobs in the "railway station" of the home, is by adding bold wallpaper. A statement wallpaper will create an uplifting mood, a slightly theatrical change to the outdoor that has just been left behind, whilst making your visitor curious about what's next - which is exactly what you want them to do....move on...

Don't shy away from the hangers, hooks and even the hamper - find a mirror that you love and set the lighting to be kind - not from directly over the mirror! Combining these elements you will make for the perfect entrance (or exit) whether in the grand hall or the boho flat. Find a statement wallpaper that you love and this might just become your favourite room yet. Here are some pretty fabulous examples of the effect wallpaper can have from @dominomag. If you want more bespoke inspiration, send me an email at larissa@miloladesign.com, I could have just the thing for you, OR would be happy to discuss making a design that suits your interiors and the mood you want to create.

Bye for now, Larissa
